What to consider when choosing your binoculars

Objective lens diameter

The objective lens diameter specifies how much light can enter the optics. This makes it a key factor in an instrument’s performance, for example, in twilight. The bigger the objective lens diameter, the more light the objective lens can capture. The darker the surroundings, the larger the objective lens diameter needs to be. Check the precise product name as the number after the ‘x’ specifies the objective lens diameter in millimeters. For example, a device with the suffix 10x42 has an objective lens with a diameter of 42 mm.

Thanks to the integrated identification support, the AX Visio helps you to find out the name of the bird or other animal species you are observing.

Share discoveries
Would you like to show your observation to the person next to you? Simply mark the animal or object you have observed with the "Share discoveries" function activated, pass the AX VISIO on and the AX Visio will show them where your discovery is by means of red arrow markings on the display.

Orientation
The handy compass function with integrated tilt angle helps you to orient yourself.

Photos and videos
Take photos or videos of your discoveries with the AX VISIO. You can then manage and share your files in the SWAROVSKI OPTIK Outdoor App.

Video stabilization
Thanks to the AX Visio’s advanced video stabilization, both video recordings and the Live View function in the SWAROVSKI OPTIK Outdoor app always deliver a clear and jitter free image. Unwanted movements and vibrations are significantly reduced.

    The problems started immediately. The owner’s manual was hard to read and English is not their first language. After getting through the battery charging, I worked for several days just to attach the strap to the binoculars. Impossible. Tried looking for help on line, nothing. Well, skip that we’ll get on to the eye adjustment. Instructions confusing and inaccurate. Working on all this, I found the dials, knobs, and adjustments clumsy and frankly they felt shoddy. They were also heavy and hard to handle. Then I discovered that there was no information in the owner’s manual on actually how to use the binoculars, download the apps, connect with your phone, etc. I was just going to have to figure that out? Well, forget it. At that point I decided to return them. Swarovski grudgingly allowed me to do so and although I had to pay for the return shipping, I did get a full refund. I’ve always been fond of my Swarovski binoculars and spotting scope but I’ll wait for an American company to do a smart binocular before I try that again.

    I used the binocular in Africa and it recognised 0 birds. Was very disappointed with the product. The interface isn't well designed and the camera feature is a chore to use. Getting imaghes in and out of the device to an iPhone is non trivial. i am shocked at the poor design quality of the software and the user experince. The optics are great. Just wished it worked as advertised
