#gobirdingvlog Episode 11: Birdwatching in Guatemala
Ornithologist Leander Khil travelled Guatemala for some exciting bird watching. Some of his highlights: In the center of the city Antigua Guatemala, Leander found a roost of Pacific Parakeets (Psittacara strenuus) in the middle of a park. At a flowering bottlebrush tree, he discovered a colorful variety of breeding birds from North America, such as a Western Tanager (Piranga ludoviciana) and six species of warblers, sharing the delicious nectar. And last but not least: in the northeast of Guatemala, Leander was lucky enough to observe the beautiful Resplendent Quetzal (Pharomachrus mocinno) as well as the largest member of the wren family.
