Mountain hunting

Mountain hunting usually requires a lot of hiking, often in steep terrain. Since all the equipment has to be carried by the hunter, light and compact gear is key. Hunting is typically done during the day. In these conditions with enough light, objective diameters of binos, rifle scopes and spotting scopes can be small. The terrain is open and animals are spotted and observed over long distances. In this regard, high magnification in binos and rifle scopes is key. Spotting scopes are needed to identify the animals.
